Reality Check

Why Is It So Difficult to Trace One Order?

A customer reports a product issue, but the complete history is spread across sales, production, warehouse and service systems. Teams spend valuable time searching for order details, delivery records and warranty information before they can even begin solving the problem.

Configure, price and quote without a spreadsheet.

Tiered, volume, dealer and promotional pricing apply automatically as a quote is built, and sales agreements enforce agreed pricing across the life of the contract. A confirmed quote becomes an order in one click, with no re-entry.

0manual price overrides needed to stay on-policy
Quote version control, so nobody works off an outdated price
Volume-scheduled sales agreements with renewal alerts
Lead routing by territory, product line or dealer

One stock number, not three.

Sales, warehousing and production read the same live inventory. Bin-level stock, shipment tracking against the originating order and allocation logic that prioritises committed orders all run on the same record - no separate WMS required to get visibility.

1inventory number, shared across every team
Warehouse layout mapping - zones, aisles, bin locations
Shipment status tracked against the order that generated it
Stock allocation that protects committed orders first

A claim traces back to its order.

Warranty coverage validates automatically against the asset and order it was sold on. Cases route by category and plant location, and the full asset history - order, install, prior claims - is on the record before an agent picks up the case.

100%of claims linked to their originating order
Automated warranty coverage checks, not judgement calls
Case routing by category and plant, to the right team first time
Complete post-sales asset tracking linked to account and product

Production sees demand before it's a shortage.

Forecasting models run off real sales history rather than a separate planning tool. Reorder thresholds and dead-stock reviews trigger on schedule, and every fulfilment or stock transfer keeps a full audit history.

0separate planning systems to maintain
Configurable, history-based demand forecasting models
Automated reorder alerts and dead-stock tracking
Fulfilment and stock transfers with a full audit trail

Your ERP stays. CRM and plant finally talk.

Salesforce sits alongside your existing ERP and MES rather than replacing them, synced through Boomi so orders, stock and production status stay consistent wherever someone looks - sales, warehouse or plant floor.

0systems replaced to connect the two
Boomi-led integration to your existing ERP and MES
One customer and asset record shared across systems
Two-way sync, so a change on the plant floor reflects in CRM

Dealers order and check stock without calling you.

Distributors and dealers get a self-service portal to place orders, check live pricing and stock, and file warranty claims on what they've sold - no more phone calls to check something a system already knows.

1portal for orders, pricing and claims
Dealers see their own pricing, stock and order status directly
Warranty claims filed by the dealer land in the same queue as your own
Rebate and target tracking visible to the dealer, not just to you
Takt quote: dealer quote with tier, dealer, promotion and volume pricing applied automatically, ready to convert to an order
Takt warehouse: units on hand, committed and available in Zone C, with shipments tracked against their orders
Takt warranty claims: open claims checked against asset coverage, with asset history from order to case
Takt demand planning: 8-week forecast from sales history, reorder alerts, dead stock and logged stock transfers
Takt integration: two-way Boomi sync of orders, stock and production between Salesforce and the existing ERP and MES
Takt dealer portal: a dealer account with open orders, own pricing, live stock, claims and rebate target

Business impact

What changes when sales, warehouse and production share one record.

The shift that matters

The Order Stops Getting Re-Typed Three Times

Most plants run a quote in one system, a delivery in another and a warranty claim on paper - so nobody can trace a claim back to the order, or an order back to the forecast that should have predicted it. Takt puts all three on one record.

Pricing Rules Enforce Themselves

Tiered, dealer and promotional pricing apply automatically on the quote, so a rep cannot approve a margin the business did not agree to.

A Claim Traces Back To Its Order

Warranty coverage is validated against the asset and order it was sold on, not judgement calls made at the service desk.

Stock Is One Number, Not Three

Sales, warehousing and production read the same live inventory, so a rep never promises stock the warehouse has already committed.

Production Sees Demand Coming

Forecasts run off real sales history, so reorder points and dead-stock reviews happen on schedule, not after the shortage.

Built On What You Already Pay For

Takt runs on the Salesforce licences already in place, so this is a configuration project measured in weeks, not a new platform and a new budget line.

Production Finds Out When The Order Is Won

A won quote posts to production the same moment it posts to the warehouse, so planning starts on the signal, not the paperwork behind it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to buy a new platform for this?+

No. Takt runs on the Sales Cloud and Service Cloud licences most manufacturers already hold. This is a configuration project on top of what you own, not a new platform purchase.

Do we need all four modules?+

No. Most clients start with the module that hurts most - usually sales orchestration or warranty - and add the rest once the first is live. Each module works standalone.

What happens to our existing ERP?+

It stays. Takt sits alongside your ERP and MES, connected through Boomi, so production and finance keep the systems they run on today - Salesforce becomes the shared layer sales, warehouse and service work from.

How long does implementation take?+

Core implementation typically runs 2 to 3 weeks per module, followed by a week of complimentary customisation once your team is live and using it.

Is this only for large manufacturers?+

Takt is built for the mid-market - manufacturers running Enterprise-tier Salesforce without the internal team to build this configuration themselves.

Can our dealers order and check stock themselves?+

Yes. Dealers and distributors get a self-service portal to place orders, see live pricing and stock, and file their own warranty claims - without calling your team to check something the system already knows.

We already use Salesforce for sales. Does this replace that?+

No. Takt builds on your existing org - it doesn't replace your accounts, contacts or open opportunities. Discovery starts by mapping what's already configured, so nothing gets rebuilt that doesn't need to be.

Can this handle multiple plants or business units?+

Yes. Plant location is a standard field on cases and stock records, so routing, inventory and reporting all split cleanly by site without separate configuration for each one.
